3 Great Uses for Plastic Finishing Plugs
All kinds of settings, whether industrial or otherwise, need plastic finishing plugs. They’re an incredibly versatile piece of technology, and they’re also easy to come by! Whether you have some extra plugs from another project or you’re planning a purchase, you should read on to learn three great uses for plastic finishing plugs.
Levelers for Chairs and Furniture
Whether you’re using your plastic finishing plugs in industrial settings or elsewhere, a chair always needs leveling. Few things are more annoying than a wobbly chair when you’re trying to focus.
Plastic finishing plugs can sort out a chair leg that’s too short and act as glides underneath chairs and furniture. If your floors can’t handle another heavy table scraping along them, you should consider plastic finishing plugs to give your floor a break.
Protective Coverings
Many pipes and other openings have sharp edges. If one of your employees doesn’t notice the edge of a pipe when walking by, then their clothing or skin can snag on it. But using plastic pipe plugs can prevent this. However, this doesn’t only protect people from the pipes. It can also protect the inside of your pipes from outside contaminants. Sealing a tube with a finishing plug prevents dust and debris from entering and gumming up the works.
Masking Threaded Holes
There are often sections of components that you don’t want covered with your industrial coating. If your product has threads, you want to avoid covering them with your finishing material, as this can change the size of your threaded holes, preventing the hardware from fitting.
You can use plastic plugs to fill these threaded holes before the coating process begins, masking them. This protects the holes from the coating and keeps them at the perfect diameter.
Now that you know these three great uses for plastic finishing plugs, stock up and always have some plugs handy—you never know when you’ll need them!
